Capital letters are indicators of new sense units, or new sections of text. They are prevalent throughout both columns, indicated by larger letters in the body of the text, usually written by the scribe with the same pen as the main body of text. Occasionally, capitals are decorated with red ink. The capitals vary in form: while all are majuscule, they can be Rustic, Uncial, or Half-Uncial in script-type.
